Former Big Brother Naija star and actor Pere Egbi has shared a heartbreaking revelation about losing a close friend to suicide, which he attributes to the effects of online bullying.
In a message posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday, Pere expressed his sorrow over the tragic loss:
“I lost a friend today because of online bullying. They took their own life. Shaking my head. Rest in peace, champ. It’s well.”
Details surrounding the location of the incident were not disclosed by Pere.
Beyond his reality TV fame, Pere has built a career in acting and film production, featuring in Nollywood and international movies such as Gem of the Rain Forest, Pound of Flesh and Blood Vessel.
Pere, who gained widespread recognition during the BBNaija Shine Ya Eye season, was popularly known as “The Major General” by fans and fellow housemates due to his firm, authoritative demeanor especially during his tenure as Head of House.
