Singer Ayra Starr has shared a childhood video of herself, saying she had a strong sense of identity from an early age.
Posting the now-deleted clip on Instagram on Wednesday, the 23-year-old reflected on her younger years and wrote, “I knew who I was at a very young age.”
The video shows her as a child, already displaying confidence and a love for performing.
Ayra Starr, born Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe on June 14, 2002, began singing in her school choir at the age of 10. She later gained attention in 2019 after sharing song covers online, which led to her signing with Mavin Records.
She released her self titled debut extended play in 2021, followed by her debut album 19 & Dangerous the same year. The project produced hit songs including ‘Bloody Samaritan,’ which became a major success and strengthened her place in the Afrobeats scene.
