Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) chairman Ola Olukoyede has denied allegations of corruption, saying he has never accepted bribes or benefited from fraudulent activities during his years in public service.

Mr Olukoyede made the statement during an interview on Channels Television on Sunday, where he addressed claims questioning his integrity and the conduct of the anti-graft agency.

He said his record across various roles in government remains open to scrutiny.

“I’d like to tell Nigerians, with every sense of responsibility, that all through my service in the public sector, as Chief of Staff, in the EFCC, and as Secretary in the EFCC, I have never been involved in any fraudulent activity,” he said.

The EFCC chairman challenged anyone with contrary evidence to speak up.

“I challenge anybody to say that I have ever collected one bottle of Coke or one naira to influence my sense of judgement in carrying out my responsibility,” he stated.

Olukoyede also spoke on his role in managing and disposing of seized assets while serving as EFCC secretary, insisting that neither he nor members of his family benefited from such processes.

“As Secretary, I managed assets and disposed of assets. You can’t trace any asset to me or any member of my family. No Nigerian can say I collected one dime because of carrying out my activities,” he said.

He urged Nigerians to verify his claims through proper investigation.

“Go and investigate that. I do my job with diligence and commitment,” he added.

Responding to allegations that the EFCC targets opposition figures and operates selectively, Olukoyede rejected the claims, saying the commission carries out its mandate without political bias.

He maintained that the EFCC functions within the law and is focused on addressing corruption.

“If you have ever offered me a bribe, and I collected, come out and say it,” he said.

Ola Olukoyede further stated that he has complied with asset declaration requirements throughout his public service career and required the same from staff of the commission.

“I declared my assets as Chief of Staff, as Secretary, and as Chairman. I also asked all my staff to declare their assets,” he said.
