Soludo’s wife challenges Uche Ekwunife to oath, DNA tests over infidelity claim

Wife of Anambra State governor Nonye Soludo has challenged the deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Uche Ekwunife, to swear an oath of fidelity in a Catholic cathedral and submit their children to DNA tests in London hospitals.

In a statement on Saturday, Mrs Soludo denied allegations of infidelity made by Mrs Ekwunife and gave her 72 hours to withdraw the claims and tender a public apology.

“In my 55 years on planet earth, I have known only one man, Chukwuma Soludo. I married him as a virgin and my fidelity to him in 33 years of marriage and for life is ironclad,” she said.

She continued, “Since she claims to be a converted Catholic, I challenge her and both of us to swear an oath of fidelity and chastity at any Cathedral in front of the Blessed Sacrament. I will also swear with my children that I have known only one man, Chukwuma Soludo. On your part, you should also swear with your children or your political ambitions that since you got married, you have never cheated on your husband.”

The first lady also proposed DNA tests for both families to be conducted in three hospitals in London, pledging to cover all expenses.

“If after the tests it is confirmed that your husband is the father of all your children, I will congratulate you with a cash award. I can confirm that my family is ready for this test at any moment of your choice,” she stated.

Soludo further warned that legal action would follow if Ekwunife failed to retract her claims within 72 hours.

The clash stems from a viral video in which Ekwunife alleged that Soludo had an affair with the late Anambra governor, Chinwoke Mbadinuju and questioned the paternity of her children.

Responding in a separate statement on Saturday, Ekwunife dismissed the ultimatum, saying Soludo owed explanations to her husband and not to her.

“Mrs Soludo does not owe me any explanation regarding personal family matters. If my statement caused any discomfort to Mrs Soludo, she owes her husband an explanation, not me. Challenging me to respond or undergo tests does not involve me, as I am not part of her family affairs,” she said.

The development comes less than two months before the Anambra governorship election scheduled for November 8, in which Uche Ekwunife is contesting as the APC deputy governorship candidate.
