Senator Ned Nwoko has spoken about his ongoing marital issues with his actress wife, Regina Daniels.
During an interview with Channels Television on Sunday night, the lawmaker representing Delta North was asked if things were calm on the home front.
He replied, “We are trying to manage the situation.”
Senator Nwoko also restated his belief in polygamy, saying it gives men greater stability and balance.
“I feel sorry for those who have one wife because it’s difficult to stand on one leg. But to stand on two, three, four is much more balanced,” he said.
When asked if his faith supported polygamy, he said, “The Old Testament does. I am a man of faith. But that’s not what we are here for.”
The senator said he had no regrets about his marital choices.
“No, I don’t have any regret. I will do the same thing again. Of course, that’s the way it should be. You should marry who you want to marry,” he stated.
On allegations of domestic violence made against him by Regina Daniels, Nwoko said, “No, come on. You know I am not a violent person. I respect my wives. I love them and my kids.”
His remarks came hours after Regina Daniels showed off a new house on social media.
“In my house, I am a Queen! I needed a roof over my head, so I got this for me and my family,” she captioned the post.
Her post followed a viral video from October 18 where she accused Nwoko of violence.
“In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my own house, I am a Queen. Not again. I can’t stand the violence, it’s too much,” she said in the footage.
After the video surfaced, Nwoko issued a public statement alleging that his wife was struggling with drug and alcohol abuse and had destroyed property and assaulted domestic staff.
Regina’s brother, Sammy West, accused Nwoko of assaulting her, while her elder brother, Sweezzy, said there is no perfect couple.
Their sister, Destiny Daniels, shared photos of Regina’s alleged injuries.
Nwoko’s brother, Michael Nwoko, urged the public to allow the family to handle the matter privately.
