I don’t kiss in movies, but can work with any director — Juliana Olayode

Nollywood actress Juliana Olayode

Actress Juliana Olayode has responded to what she calls damaging rumours circulating about her in the entertainment industry, saying the reports have caused her real hurt.

In a video shared on her Instagram page, Juliana said she has always remained quiet about online stories, but recent claims “truly broke my heart.” She described the spread of falsehoods as “destructive” and questioned the reasons behind people choosing to lie about others.

Juliana is widely known for her role as Toyosi, or “Toyo Baby,” in the popular series Jenifa’s Diary and for her public advocacy on matters of faith and personal discipline. She has in the past spoken openly about how her Christian beliefs shape her life and career choices.

In her latest post, the actress addressed rumours about her willingness to work within the industry. She made it clear that she is open to collaborating with any producer or director, provided the story and her role align with her personal convictions.

She wrote, “So I want to clear the air. There is absolutely NO producer or director I cannot work with. None. I am open and willing to work with anyone, as long as the story and my role do not go against my consecration to God.”

She also restated her long‑held position on intimate scenes in films, noting that she does not kiss on screen because of her faith. “It is true that I wouldn’t kiss in movies,” she said. “It’s okay if you don’t like me. It’s okay if you say I’m not a good actor; it’s okay if you don’t want to work with me. But lying about me is deeply wrong and hurtful.”

Her stance on maintaining certain boundaries on screen is not new. In earlier interviews, Juliana said she sometimes turns down roles that conflict with her principles and described how this has shaped the kinds of projects she accepts.
