Tanzanian singer Juma Jux has said he did not know his wife, social media influencer Priscilla Ojo, was a celebrity when they first met.
Jux shared the revelation during an interview with Yanga FM, where he said he fell in love with Priscilla at first sight. According to him, they met in Rwanda, and her fame only became clear later during a visit to Tanzania.
“I met her in Rwanda, I didn’t know she was a celebrity. It was love at first sight, when she came to Tanzania and we went to Zanzibar and we took a picture that was when I know after seeing a lot of blogs posting her, I was wowed,” he said.
Priscilla Ojo is the daughter of Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo and is known for her strong presence on social media.
The couple made their relationship public in July 2024. They held a series of wedding ceremonies across Tanzania and Nigeria in this year.
Their celebrations began with an Islamic wedding in Dar es Salaam attended by close family and friends. This was followed by a traditional Yoruba ceremony and a white wedding in Lagos, Nigeria.
Jux and Priscilla also completed their civil wedding in February 2025. The celebrations ended with a final wedding reception in Tanzania in May 2025.
Their marriage has attracted attention across East and West Africa, blending Tanzanian and Nigerian cultures.
