Actress Regina Daniels has responded to her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, following his allegations that her siblings and friends supplied her with illegal substances and sabotaged her rehabilitation.
In a series of Instagram posts in the early hours of Sunday, Regina denied that her family had any involvement in the matter, accusing Nwoko of lying to the public to cover up the real issues in their marriage.
“Ned, how could you lie so openly and without even small remorse? You know my family has absolutely nothing to do with this. You have always tried to cut them off because of the bond we share, and now you are trying to make them look bad for no reason,” she wrote.
While admitting to past drug use, the actress said Nwoko was using the issue to manipulate and isolate her. “Fine, I did drgs. So what? Is that even the issue between us? The moment we had a fight, you rushed to the public shouting drgs because you knew it would make a perfect story for the media,” she said.
Regina accused the senator of coercion and control, alleging that he once encouraged her drug use and often tried to isolate her from friends and family. “You want to find a reason to arrest everyone around me so that I will have no one left beside me… Then, when I’m completely isolated and broken, I will be forced to come back to you,” she wrote.
She further claimed that Nwoko would lock her up, seize her phones, and falsely declare her “mentally unstable” whenever she resisted the relationship. “Why don’t you also tell them how you lock me up and tell doctors to inject me with dr*gs meant for people with bipolar disorder?” she said.
Regina also questioned the legality of their union, stating, “I would have filed for divorce long ago if there was ever a legal marriage between us. We were never married in any court of law, and no documents were signed. Leave me alone.”
In another post, she expressed regret over trusting the senator and vowed to fight in court. “My name is ruined for now but I will rewrite my story! … Now that I have let the one thing you have on me out, what else? It’s time to fight with all of me in court! I’m not backing down now, you narcissistic manipulative bast*rd,” she wrote.
The response comes after Nwoko publicly accused her family members, including her brothers Sammy and Lawrence, of introducing her to drugs and disrupting her rehabilitation.
Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko married in 2019 and have two children together. Their marriage has recently been embroiled in controversy following these public exchanges on social media.
