I can’t work with Speed Darlington even for $100bn – CDQ

Rapper Sodiq Yusuf, popularly known as CDQ, has ruled out the possibility of working with controversial entertainer Speed Darlington.

Speaking during an interview on the Echoo Room podcast hosted by Teddy A, CDQ was asked which artiste he would never collaborate with, even if he was paid $100 billion.

After thinking for a few seconds, the rapper replied, “For whatever fee, even $100 billion, I cannot work with Speed Darlington.”

CDQ also recounted how relationship coach Blessing CEO once reached out to him in his DM to promote his music. He laughed about the encounter, noting that she offered to help push one of his songs.

CDQ’s remarks sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some users questioning his relevance compared to Speed Darlington. Others pointed out that the internet sensation, also known as Akpi, might not be musically gifted but remains more popular than some mainstream artistes.

One commenter wrote, “But Akpi is more popular than him.”

Another added, “Even Jay-Z and Beyoncé go work with person wey give them $100 billion.”

Speed Darlington, known for his eccentric behaviour and viral videos, has clashed with several artistes in the past, including Portable and Burna Boy. Despite criticisms about his music, the entertainer continues to attract attention online with his unpredictable persona.

CDQ, on the other hand, rose to fame in 2013 with his breakout single ‘Indomie’ featuring Olamide. He is widely known for his street-style rap delivered in Yoruba and Pidgin English. The rapper has built his brand around lyrical dexterity and street credibility.
