I can still make hit songs – Chuddy K

By Tofarati Ige

chuddy kSinger, Chuddy K, made a big bang with his 2012 hit, Gaga Crazy, but shortly after that, not much seemed to be heard from the Edo State-born crooner. His follow-up song, Brazilian Hair didn’t make as much waves as expected, and in this chat with qed.ng, he says that contrary to what many think, he still has a lot of hits to bless his fans with, and that he isn’t scared of competition.

Excerpts…

You once performed for Edo State Governor; one would have thought you’ll also be visible in this election season?

I’m not particular about any party. Governor Adams Oshiomhole is my friend and I celebrated with him when he was celebrating, that’s all.

What have you been up to?

I just released a new song and titled Go Down. I’ll be dropping the video in a couple of weeks after the elections.

Some people feel you’ve not been able to record another hit as big as Gaga Crazy

That’s what people think, right? But that’s not what it is.

Can you tell us what it is then?

The truth is that I’ve been working and touring. I have a family, and other things to do as well. Trust me, something bigger is coming. You’ve not seen anything yet when it comes to Chuddy K.

So you don’t feel threatened by the likes of Davido, Kiss Daniel, and other youngsters out there?

Not all all, Shout out to them all. I can never be threatened by anybody. It’s a God-given talent as I was never taught how to sing and compose music by anybody. It comes naturally. For me to be bothering about any competition, it means I’m not fit enough in the first place. They’re great talents, but trust me; I know what I can do.

Last word to your fans?

You guys should watch out for me. 2015 just started, and there’s a whole lot to come from me.
