I almost committed suicide after my BBNaija disqualification — Beauty Tukura

Former Big Brother Naija Season 7 housemate and ex-Miss Nigeria, Beauty Tukura, has opened up about the emotional breakdown she suffered after her disqualification from the reality show.

Speaking on the Beyond With Ezinne podcast, Beauty said the backlash after her eviction pushed her into depression.

“The heat was too much, and personally, I felt like nothing I said was going to make sense because all they wanted to do was crucify me like Jesus. It was very hard,” she said.

According to her, she was too ashamed to face her parents after the disqualification. “I was too ashamed to see them. I didn’t know how to face them. I was in a very bad place,” she admitted.

The Taraba-born lawyer said her parents continued to reach out with love and support, helping her recover emotionally.

“I cried every day. I was thinking of ending it. I almost actually committed suicide,” she confessed. “I decided to focus on the love. Since then, I’ve always focused on the positive messages.”

Beauty said the experience taught her to be stronger and more self-aware. “That was the lowest point of my life, and I’ve decided it will stay that way. There’s no room for such mistakes anymore,” she added.

Beauty was disqualified from the Level Up edition of BBNaija in August 2022 after receiving two strikes for violent behaviour towards fellow housemates Ilebaye and Groovy.
