How Pasuma flew in from Germany to shoot my film – Mama Ereko

Veteran actress Morenike Sulaimon, popularly known as Mama Ereko, has praised fuji star Wasiu Pasuma for making a surprising sacrifice to honour his role in her movie.

In an interview, the 72-year-old revealed that Pasuma had 22 scenes in her film, but when production was about to start, she was told the singer was in Germany.

“He came from Germany to deliver his roles for my movie,” she said.

Mama Ereko explained that Pasuma even made efforts to hide the trip from people around him. “He left his clothes in his house there and bought new ones at the airport so his people wouldn’t know he was travelling,” she added.

According to her, Pasuma landed in Nigeria and headed straight to her set. “That’s a day I’ll never forget,” she said, recalling how he returned to Germany immediately after completing his scenes.

With a chuckle, the actress revealed she still owes the fuji star a small amount of money. “I still owe him N10,000. But he doesn’t even remember,” she said.

Mama Ereko, who has spent over five decades in the Yoruba movie industry, has often spoken about the support she receives from younger colleagues and musicians. She described Pasuma as someone she deeply appreciates. “Pasuma knows I love him so much,” she said.

Pasuma, known for balancing his music career with occasional Nollywood appearances, has featured in several Yoruba films over the years.
