Singer Omah Lay has revealed that a woman he once hoped to have a child with ended their relationship while he was attending the Grammy Awards.
Speaking at the listening party for his upcoming album Clarity of Mind, Omah Lay reflected on how deeply he becomes emotionally involved in relationships.
“Every time I fall in love, I lose myself. While I was at the Grammy and Justin Bieber was performing, I was having a breakup and an embarrassing moment,” he said.
The relationship lasted only two months, but Omah Lay had considered it serious and even thought about starting a family with the woman. He admitted that the breakup distracted him during the event and affected his ability to enjoy the experience.
Omah Lay is from Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He gained prominence in 2020 after his self-produced single ‘Bad Influence’ gained attention on social media.
The 28-year-old has collaborated with top artistes, including Davido on the song ‘With You’, which topped Nigeria’s TurnTable Top 100 chart in 2025.
