Actor and comedian Abimbola Kazeem, popularly known as Jigan Babaoja, has shared how he overcame body shaming and learned to embrace his disability.

In an interview with Oyinmomo TV, the movie star opened up about dealing with mockery and negative comments from a young age.

“What happened is I have taken these things off my mind. I have taken it off my mind since I was eight years old. I do not know if I have an injury on my leg. The only time I know I am living with disability is when I look into the mirror,” he said.

Jigan, who has a physical condition affecting one of his legs, said he considers himself capable of doing anything a person without disability can do.

“This is because I can literally do everything. I can run. I can jump. I can play football. There is nothing I cannot do. Even when it comes to (sexual intercourse), I do better than a two-legged person. I like to do all those hard things,” he added.

The comic actor also had a word of encouragement for others living with disabilities.

“My advice to people like me is that they should observe my life. Before you abuse me, I would have abused myself. There is nothing anyone can say to me that would pain me. They should accept that that is how God does his thing,” he said.

Jigan gained widespread popularity in 2018 following the viral “So Mo Age Mi” challenge and has continued to use his platform to inspire others with similar conditions.

In past interviews, Jigan revealed that his disability was caused by an injection error during childhood.

Despite often being cast in similar roles in movies, Jigan has consistently called on filmmakers to give him diverse roles, saying he is a versatile actor and can take on any challenge in front of the camera.
