Actress and philanthropist Tonto Dikeh has shared a personal testimony about her life and spiritual journey while speaking at a gospel event in Tanzania.
In her testimony, Tonto said she spent years feeling confused and searching for direction. She told worshippers that in that period she made choices she now regrets. She said those choices included joining a cult and engaging in what she described as “working with a demon.”
“At the midst of trying to navigate life, I’ve dipped my hands in so much filth and dirt, I’ve joined a cult, I’ve worked with a demon so hard,” she said.
“I know who he is, and I know that he doesn’t have anything for me anymore.”
She added that she believes a turning point came when she felt a divine call from God and returned to her faith. “Today God said… I’ll take you back and clean you up. I’ll put you on altars to preach my gospel.” Her comments were met with applause from worshippers.
On her Instagram page, the mother of one explained that her first assignment from God was to “clean His house.” She wrote that at first she questioned the task because she has staff who maintain her home. She said God told her that cleaning his house would launch her into his glory and cleanse her from the inside out.
Earlier in March, Tonto announced she had dropped the title “King” from her public name after eight years, saying the change came from obedience to the Holy Spirit. She asked the public to address her as “Evangelist Tonto Dikeh.”
Her recent testimonies and faith declarations follow earlier public reflections on her spiritual life. Last month, she shared images with her ex-husband Olakunle Churchill and their son, marking a moment of peace after years of public disputes over their relationship and custody. Alongside that post, she spoke about her spiritual growth and commitment to faith.
