How Femi Adebayo helped sustain my career – Kunle Afod

Kunle Afod

Actor Kunle Afod has spoken about the support he received from fellow actor Femi Adebayo at a time when his acting career was struggling.

Kunle made the comments at an all-white event he hosted, where he also presented an award to Femi.

He said that during a difficult period, Adebayo continued to cast him in major movie roles. “When my acting career was declining, Femi Adebayo kept casting me in his major movies,” Kunle said.

He also recalled his long personal connection with Femi. In an earlier interview, Kunle said they grew up together and that he lived in the family home of Adebayo Salami, widely known as Oga Bello, for seven years.

Femi Adebayo is a prominent actor, director, producer and filmmaker in the Nigerian film industry. He is the son of veteran actor Adebayo Salami, who has been a major figure in Yoruba cinema and Nollywood for decades. Femi has appeared in more than 500 films and directed and produced several commercially successful projects.

His notable works include Seven Doors, King of Thieves (2022), one of the top-grossing Yoruba films and Jagun Jagun (2023).
