Vivian Nkwirula, wife of actor and comedian Victor Nwaogu, popularly known as Nkubi, has shared an experience in which a doctor allegedly questioned her decision to conceive with her husband.
Vivian spoke about the incident during an interview, recounting a conversation she said took place after she presented her medical results.
She said: “The doctor asked, ‘Does anyone have a trait of dwarfism in your family?’ and I said, ‘Yes, that is my husband.’ The doctor said, why didn’t you go to your brother-in-law, or outside to get pregnant, instead of getting pregnant for your husband? Or even get a sperm donor, that’s what a doctor told me.”
Her account has sparked reactions online, with many discussing attitudes towards couples where one partner has a physical condition and raising concerns about discrimination and personal choice in medical conversations.
Nkubi, whose real name is Victor Udochukwu Nwaogu, is known for his roles in Nollywood films, television productions and comedy skits. He has previously spoken publicly about living with dwarfism and has said he does not see it as a limitation.
The couple got married in 2021 after several years of dating and welcomed their first child in 2024.
