Rapper and filmmaker Abdulrasheed Bello, known as JJC Skillz, has accused Don Jazzy and D’banj of betraying him during the early stages of their careers.

He made the claims in an interview on the Echo Room, where he shared his experiences working with the two Nigerian music stars.

JJC Skillz said he first met Don Jazzy and D’banj when they were aspiring artistes in the United Kingdom. He helped provide food, clothing, and accommodation for them and introduced them to shows and industry contacts. He expected support for his own music career in return.

He claimed the relationship changed after rapper Ruggedman told him that D’banj had accused him of cheating them financially. JJC Skillz responded:

“Nobody knows you, bro. I take you to shows, buy your clothes, food, you even live in my house and I take you everywhere. How can I be cheating you when you haven’t made any money?”

He also mentioned Ayo and DJ Abass, saying they were all expected to help each other professionally, but some instead worked against him.

The individuals named in JJC Skillz’s interview have not publicly responded to his comments.

JJC Skillz first rose to prominence in the UK with the group JJC and the 419 Squad before transitioning into film and television. He was previously married to Nollywood star Funke Akindele; the couple separated in 2022 and share twin boys.
