Celebrity chef Hilda Baci’s mother Linda has joined her daughter on Friday at the Gino World Jollof Festival in Lagos as she attempts to set a Guinness World Record for the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.

In a video shared online, Mrs Linda, who is also a chef and runs Calabar Pot, was seen assisting her daughter in preparing the jollof base.

She previously trained Hilda in the culinary business before the latter became a household name.

Hilda Baci is attempting the record at the Eko Hotel Car Park B, Lagos, using a custom pot with a capacity of 22,619 litres.

She aims to fill it up to 80 percent with about 250 bags of rice.

The event, which was earlier scheduled for Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island, is expected to host over 20,000 registered attendees.

In May 2023, Hilda cooked for 93 hours and 11 minutes to claim the Guinness World Record for the longest individual cooking marathon.

The feat was later surpassed by Irish chef Alan Fisher, who cooked for 119 hours and 57 minutes.
