Celebrity chef Hilda Baci has begun preparations for her next Guinness World Record attempt with a test batch of jollof rice cooked in a custom-made giant pot.

The 28-year-old foodpreneur shared a video on Instagram showing the massive pan she intends to use for the challenge, which will take place on September 12, at Muri Okunola Park, Lagos during the Gino World Jollof Festival.

“Six metres wide. Six metres tall. On September 12, we make history together. Because what is jollof without you to share it with?” she wrote.

The event, which will feature live music and cultural showcases, is expected to draw thousands of food lovers to Lagos.

Hilda rose to international fame in May 2023 when she broke the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual. She cooked for 93 hours and 11 minutes, surpassing the previous record of 87 hours and 45 minutes set by India’s Lata Tondon.

Her effort attracted nationwide support and was later officially confirmed by Guinness in June 2023. However, her record was broken in November 2023 by Irish chef Alan Fisher, who cooked for 119 hours and 57 minutes.
