Actress Halima Abubakar has appealed to the public for support after saying she was ejected from her home by her landlady, despite being ready to renew her rent.
In a live video on TikTok, Halima said the eviction happened even though she offered to pay rent again. She also spoke about her ongoing health struggles, which she has shared with followers in recent months.
Halima has been open about her medical challenges and the impact they have had on her life and career. In earlier posts and videos, she explained that she has been dealing with a serious undisclosed illness. In one Instagram video, she said she had been using a TikTok filter to hide the full effect of her condition, telling followers:
“People are confused about what is going on. I am not feeling well up until now. I am just good at being strong and pretending that I am okay. This is me, but every day you see me post a picture with a filter. That is a filter on TikTok, not me. This is how I look.”
She also spoke about how difficult it has been to get support for her medical care. In earlier appeals, she said she had reached out for help from people and institutions, including the Kogi state government, without success.
In that appeal she said:
“Help me, I’m tired of begging people. Please tag Kogi state government.”
The 39‑year‑old actress has not acted in films for several years and has described how her condition affected her ability to work. She also shared that she sold personal assets in a bid to cover medical expenses.
The eviction and her continued pleas for assistance have prompted reactions on social media, with many calling for support for the actress amid her health and housing challenges.
