Half my problems got solved after celibacy – TG Omori

Music video director ThankGod Omori, better known as TG Omori, has revealed how his life changed after he embraced celibacy.

In a post on X on Wednesday, the 29-year-old wrote, “Since I took my oath of celibacy half of my problems were solved.”

The revelation has sparked mixed reactions online, with some applauding his discipline and others questioning how sustainable the lifestyle could be for someone in the entertainment industry.

Omori began directing in his teens before training at PEFTI Film Institute. He has since become one of Nigeria’s most sought-after directors, working with stars such as Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, Olamide, Asake and Naira Marley.

His statement comes months after he opened up about his health struggles. In August 2024, Omori revealed that his only brother donated a kidney to him in a transplant that unfortunately failed. “Yesterday my only brother gave me one of his kidneys so I could live again,” he wrote at the time.

He later updated fans that he was recovering from the procedure, saying, “Up and grateful, O Lord. (Sadly, I can’t backflip.) Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes… I’m healing now from the stitches of the failed one, I’ll continue the fight.”
