Author Chimamanda Adichie will take centre stage in a new edition of African Voices Changemakers, CNN International’s magazine programme sponsored by Globacom.

The feature, titled “Generational Storyteller Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie,” will air on Saturday, September 20, at 11:00 a.m., with CNN anchor Larry Madowo hosting.

A press statement shared on Friday praised the author, “Adichie is one of Africa’s most influential literary voices, inspiring readers worldwide with her storytelling. From her award-winning debut Purple Hibiscus to internationally acclaimed works like Half of a Yellow Sun and Americanah, she has established herself as a writer who challenges perspectives, redefines identity and celebrates African narratives.

“With her much-anticipated new release, Dream Count, she once again underscores her role as a cultural icon whose influence extends beyond literature into global conversations on feminism, heritage, and authenticity.”

The programme was filmed in Nsukka, Enugu State, where Adichie grew up and which frequently serves as a setting in her works. It offers viewers an in-depth look at “her evolution as a writer, her inspirations and how she continues to redefine African storytelling on the global stage.”

The episode will be rebroadcast across multiple time slots to reach audiences in different time zones, including Sunday, September 21, Monday, September 22 and the following weekend, Saturday, September 27, and Sunday, September 28.

The press statement added that through Globacom’s ongoing sponsorship of African Voices Changemakers, the programme has become a leading platform for celebrating African excellence, highlighting the continent’s talent, creativity and cultural influence worldwide.
