Former Gulder Ultimate Search winner and actor Gideon Okeke has once again taken a swipe at his senior colleague Jim Iyke, following the latter’s unconventional birthday tribute to actress Kate Henshaw.
Jim Iyke had shared the message on Sunday, a day after Kate turned 53. In the lengthy Instagram post, the actor, known for his brash persona, accompanied photos of the actress with a humorous and risqué tribute that began each paragraph with the phrase, “F**k you Kate.”
“Fk you, on behalf of my 23-year-old self for treating me like your baby brother when you knew all that time I wanted to hit that,” Jim wrote. “You kept manipulating my black ass by always looking out for me… slipping a couple of bucks in my hands to make sure I got a meal or transport fare back to my cousin’s.”
Jim, 48, continued by reminiscing about his past admiration for Kate, stating: “Our love child would have been in his/her mid twenties now if you had let me experiment with my seed just a couple of times. What a gorgeous human we would have made together!”
The actor didn’t stop there. He revealed that they eventually got intimate, but he blamed his youthful recklessness for why things didn’t work out. “You knew I had a great heart, but I was just crazy and dumb… You stopped looking out for me. Took everything I did literally, then ran off and married that ‘Oyibo’,” he wrote, adding, “It did end in praise. I was so proud!”
While some fans found the post funny and nostalgic, Gideon Okeke was not amused.
Reacting on Instagram on Monday, the Tinsel actor lashed out at Jim, calling him a “motherf**ka” and a “bonehead.” He questioned why such behaviour is tolerated in the industry, writing:
“Somebody take a look at this Motherfukka over here. It’s the narcissistic effrontery for me. Such a bonehead. I wonder who puts these people in check.
“It’s this kinda rubbish behaviour that people condone, that gives other people the balls to be the actual pricks they are…in real life. Small Boy. Talk anyhow in public. Tueh.”
This is not the first time Gideon has openly criticised Jim Iyke. In December 2024, he called Jim a “small boy,” describing him as talentless and fake. He slammed Jim’s use of what he called a “fake American accent” and questioned his contributions to Nollywood.
“I’ve met some solid individuals, while I’ve also met some phoney peeps,” Gideon wrote at the time. “Like that Jim Iyke guy who wants to be a goldfish but has no sense of character. Small boy to me, small boy. If only Jim Iyke could act! He would have been an actor. But sorry, he’s a phoney-ass kneegar.”
The tension escalated further when Gideon alleged that he sustained an injury while working on Jim Iyke’s production set earlier that year. The injury, which required two stitches, reportedly took three months to heal.
“For clarity and for the benefit of my new employers and supporters, had I gotten more than these two stitches on the set of Jim Iyke’s production, you all would still call me a fool, I guess,” he wrote. “Sometimes I ask myself, why was it me who got hurt? I guess it’s so nobody else has to take one for the team. But Jim Iyke is running. Small boy!”
Reactions to the renewed outburst have been mixed, with some fans calling for maturity.
Jim Iyke and Kate Henshaw have yet to publicly respond to Gideon’s latest remarks.
