Actor Gideon Okeke has reignited his long-running feud with colleague Jim Iyke, mocking an alleged $2.5 million (about N9 billion) budget for Jim’s newly released film Sin: The First Kill.
In a scathing Instagram post on Monday, Gideon dismissed the film as a “waste” and described Jim as a “waste pipe” who misled the public and his partners.
“Jim Iyke’s Sin is dead on arrival. My condolences,” he wrote.
“That kneegar needs to refund Prime Video the purported $2.5M dollars he claimed to have been the budget. $2.5M!!! That’s like 9 billion in Naira. Jim is a waste pipe.”
He accused Jim of exaggerating the budget, describing the film as lacking substance despite the amount allegedly spent on production.
The first instalment of the movie, released on Prime Video on July 24, stars Gideon himself alongside David Eruotor, Lyke Michael and Chude Jideonwo. It was reportedly shot across Nigeria, Ghana, France and the United States.
His post triggered reactions online, with some noting that he was among the cast in the movie.
One Instagram user asked, “The same movie you acted in?”
Another said, “I might not like you that much, but you are right. That movie annoyed me to my core. A parade of stars for a story that was so boring and uninteresting.”
A different user wrote, “This is really not nice. Whatever your issues are with him, face him personally. Don’t water down the work of other creatives. You know personally that making a film is no beans—it takes the collective effort of both cast and crew to create magic.”
Another added, “And I kuku like Gideon, but as long as say you dey the film I go watch am—even if na only your side. Make I fast forward the rest. OG for a reason.”
This is not the first time Gideon is calling out Jim Iyke.
In December 2024, Gideon accused Jim of neglect after sustaining an injury on his film set. He claimed he received two stitches and spent three months recovering without any support from the producer. He also called out the Actors Guild and directors’ guild for failing to protect actors on set.
Last month, the actor also criticised Jim over a birthday post to Kate Henshaw, describing his message as narcissistic.
“Somebody take a look at this motherfukka over here. It’s the narcissistic effrontery for me. Such a bone head. I wonder who puts these people in check. It’s this kinda rubbish behaviour that people condone, that gives other people the balls to be the actual pri*ks that they are… in real life. Talk anyhow in public. Tueh,” Gideon said at the time.
Sin: The First Kill is produced by Jim Iyke’s 6th Sense Productions in collaboration with David Eruotor. Jim had said in earlier interviews that the film would reposition African cinema with international-level production quality.
