Actress Genevieve Nnaji was among guests at the service of songs for Chief Matthew Egwuenu, father of Arise TV presenter Ojy Okpe.
The event was held on Monday, April 6, in Lagos, with videos shared on social media the following day.
Egwuenu, a retired commissioner of police, died on February 6 at the age of 80. Genevieve attended to support her friend Ojy during the service. Other prominent figures present included former Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi, businessman Tony Elumelu and music artiste B‑Red.
The Egwuenu family had earlier released details of the funeral arrangements.
Following the Lagos service of songs, a vigil mass will hold on April 9 in Umukwata, Delta State. The burial mass is scheduled for April 10, with interment at the family compound in Obionyeonicha, Delta State.
