Former National chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Abdullahi Ganduje has made his first major political appearance in Kano since resigning from his position three months ago.
Mr Ganduje attended a closed-door meeting of the APC Kano State chapter held in Abuja on Thursday.
The meeting was convened to strengthen the party’s structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The former Kano governor resigned as APC national chairman with immediate effect on June 27.
In July, Ganduje explained his absence during President Bola Tinubu’s condolence visit to Kano.
In a statement issued by his former chief of staff, Muhammad Garba, it was stated that Ganduje was away in London on a prior personal commitment that coincided with the president’s visit to the family of the late industrialist and elder statesman, Aminu Dantata.
The statement noted that Ganduje kept in touch with key party figures to ensure smooth coordination of the president’s visit.
It also stressed that his resignation did not affect his relationship with President Tinubu, describing their political bond as longstanding.
