Filmmaker Funke Akindele was seen in a viral video appearing to ignore her colleague Toyin Abraham at the premiere of Return of Arinze, hosted by Iyabo Ojo.
Videos circulating on Sunday night showed Toyin approaching a table where Iyabo, Mercy Aigbe, William Benson and others were seated. She exchanged greetings with those at the table, but Funke, who was also present, did not respond as Toyin attempted to greet her.
Funke could be seen ignoring Toyin as the latter tried to greet her, generating reactions online.
Reasons for the reaction is unknown.
Toyin has now unfollowed Funke on Instagram.
The development has stirred fresh conversations about the relationship between the two actresses, who were previously known to have had a strained working relationship.
Funke and Toyin were once perceived as rivals in the Yoruba film industry, especially during the peak of their careers as leading actresses and producers. The tension was often linked to competition around film releases and box office performance.
In 2023, both actresses appeared to put an end to the long standing rivalry.
