Freedom Park, Lagos, will on Friday, hold a musical night of tributes in honour of disc jockey Raymond Browne, widely known as DJ RayBee, who died on April 29.
The park announced the upcoming event in an Instagram post on Monday. The post included a tribute poster featuring a photo of the deceased and event details.
“Join us for a soulful tribute at Freedom Park Lagos! on the 9th of May, 2025 as we Celebrate the life, music! Legacy of Dj Raymond Bola Browne @brownehill with @dedemabiaku & Friends. Let’s honor an extraordinary spirit together. See you there!” the caption read.
DJ RayBee died after reportedly suffering a heart attack at Freedom Park shortly after watching the UEFA Champions League semi-final match between Arsenal and PSG.
The respected disc jockey was the founder and CEO of BrowneHill Radio, an online station known for promoting music, film and Nigerian culture.
He is survived by a son, siblings, friends and many admirers. His death has been described as a painful loss to the creative community.
