Freedom Online publisher Gabriel Akinadewo has lost his son, Washington Oluwagbenga.
Washington died on Sunday in Lagos at a private hospital after a brief illness.
He had recently completed his university education at a private university in Lagos, where he studied Information Technology.
He was preparing to begin his National Youth Service Corps programme in January.
He has since been buried.
Gabriel Akinadewo is a journalist born on March 10, 1968.
He holds a BA in English and a Masters in International Law and Diplomacy, both from the University of Lagos.
His career includes roles as a correspondent with Concord newspaper, Group News Editor and Group Politics Editor at The Comet and The Nation newspapers, Weekend Editor and Daily Editor at Nigerian Compass newspaper and Editor, Managing Director and Editor in Chief of New Telegraph newspaper.
He is currently the Managing Director and Editor in Chief of Freedom Online.
