Gospel singer Frank Edwards has recounted how late evangelist Rev Uma Ukpai healed him of asthma and pneumonia when he was just eight years old.
The Miracle God crooner shared his testimony in an Instagram post on Monday while mourning the revered cleric who died at 80.
“At age 8 I got healed of asthma and pneumonia in one of your crusades in Enugu!! Thank you for impacting the world in a special way!! YOU FINISHED WELL PAPA REST ON,” he wrote.
Rev Uma Ukpai, who died on October 6, was a respected preacher and founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association (UUEA), based in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Ukpai began his ministry after a series of personal encounters he described as divine. Over the years, he became known for his large crusades, healing services and humanitarian projects including the Uma Ukpai Eye Centre, King of Kings Hospital and Uma Ukpai School of Theology.
Despite personal tragedies, including the loss of two children in an accident, the preacher continued to serve through faith-based and educational programmes across Nigeria.
Following his death, several gospel ministers including Nathaniel Bassey and Moses Bliss have taken to social media to honour his legacy.
Rev Uma Ukpai’s life and ministry spanned more than five decades, touching countless lives through crusades and evangelism across Africa and beyond.
