Television host Frank Edoho has responded to claims that his personal life affected his career.
The discussion began on X (formerly Twitter) in the early hours of Thursday when a user, Foundational Nupe Lawyer (@egi_nupe___), criticised Frank for appearing in adverts for a sports betting company instead of hosting the quiz show that made him popular.
The user wrote: “The generation that didn’t witness Frank Edoho as the host of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire will not understand how bad one feels seeing him on TV again but promoting Bet9ja.”
When asked why Frank left the show, the user responded: “I think the sponsors pulled out and he had some marital issues then.”
Frank reacted while quoting the X user’s comment: “Sponsors pulled out because I had marital issues? Since we are being stupid, why didn’t your father pull out when you were conceived? After all, he didn’t really like your mother. Tw@t.”
The comment drew reactions online, with many pointing out that the lawyer had unfairly brought Frank’s personal life into the discussion.
Reports indicate the show’s organisers and Frank parted ways over professional disagreements, including contract terms. He has since returned for later editions and pursued other media projects.
Frank Edoho first rose to prominence as the host of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire in Nigeria. He has publicly discussed his personal life, including the end of his second marriage, but has not connected these events to his career changes.
