Former Lagos State police public relations officer (PPRO) Dolapo Badmos has been deployed to the United Nations (UN) as Nigeria’s Police Representative.
Badmos announced the development in a social media post on Saturday, expressing excitement about taking on an international role.
“To my family, friends, and folks alike, I want to intimate you as I start a new journey in my career, the one that has taken me out of the shores of our dear nation Nigeria to operate in the international scene among a confederation of states. Nigeria Police Representative to UN,” she wrote.
Badmos, who joined the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet ASP on August 15, 2002, has served in various capacities, including as aide-de-camp (ADC) to the speaker of the National Assembly, making history as the first female officer to occupy that role.
She has also served as divisional traffic officer in Alakuko, Lagos, and later as divisional police officer (DPO) at Isokoko Division in Agege. In January 2016, she was appointed Lagos PPRO, before being elevated to Zone 2 Command PRO, covering Lagos and Ogun states.
