Music icon 2Baba has publicly apologised over the controversy surrounding his marriage to Natasha Osawaru, saying he has provided “too much entertainment” with the ongoing saga.
The drama began after his former managers, Kaka Igbokwe and Lori Tosan, accused Natasha of trying to gain full control of his career and finances. They made the allegations during a live session with media personality Daddy Freeze.
2Baba joined the live broadcast and cautioned them against discussing his private life. The session abruptly ended after an off-camera argument between the singer and Natasha became audible.
Following the episode, members of his family petitioned the Inspector-General of Police, accusing Natasha of assault, bigamy and financial misconduct. The petition alleged she attacked the singer in the UK and Abuja and withheld his passport and other documents.
2Baba however distanced himself from the allegations. He insisted his family was worsening the situation by intervening and claimed Natasha was receiving death threats because of the controversy.
The 50-year-old made his latest plea at a public event, asking for calm.
“I must say that I don provide too much entertainment. Please do not be angry at me again. Please forgive me and my family,” he said.
He added that the situation had become “too much entertainment that needs to stop.”
The ‘African Queen’ singer previously criticised his family over their interference, saying their actions were destroying him while attempting to protect him. He also defended his wife, saying she was being unfairly targeted.
Over the past week, 2Baba has repeatedly maintained that he is “perfectly okay” and urged his relatives and the public to stop painting Natasha in a negative light. He also said he has the right to be with whoever he chooses.
The police have not confirmed whether any investigation has been opened in response to the family petition. Natasha has not publicly responded to the allegations.
