Content creator Folagade Banks has launched a clothing brand, House of Folagade, a fashion line focused on Adire outfits.
Folagade, widely known for playing Mama Adeola in his comedy videos, announced the launch on his Instagram page, sharing a promotional video featuring him and several entertainers. In the video, he appeared alongside content creators Nasboi, Broda Shaggi and Shank Comics, who modelled pieces from the newly unveiled collection.
Announcing the brand to his followers, he described the initiative as a gift to fans who have supported his creative journey over the years.
“I present to you all, House of Folagade. Patronise Mama Adeola. My gift from the deepest place of love in my heart to those who have loved the brand all over the years and want Mama Deola to be as close as being in their homes,” he wrote.
Folagade also disclosed that the Adire dresses would be available for purchase at a starting price of N50,000, encouraging fans to support the brand.
House of Folagade focuses on traditional Adire fabric, a locally made textile that has gained renewed popularity in contemporary Nigerian fashion. The launch video generated reactions online, showcasing different designs, with featured influencers praising the creativity and cultural appeal of the outfits.
With the introduction of House of Folagade, Folagade joins a growing number of Nigerian entertainers who have expanded into fashion while promoting indigenous fabrics. Adire, a resist dyed textile historically associated with the Yoruba people of southwestern Nigeria, has in recent years seen renewed interest among designers and fashion entrepreneurs seeking to blend traditional craftsmanship with modern styles.
