Focus on your daughter not AGN presidency, Emeka Rollas tells Rita Daniels

Emeka Rollas Actors Guild of Nigeria AGN president

Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) president Emeka Rollas has asked Rita Daniels to put her ambition to become AGN president aside and focus on her daughter Regina Daniels’ well-being amid her marital crisis with Senator Ned Nwoko.

Rollas made the appeal in a statement posted on Instagram on Thursday, saying he had been silent “out of respect” but could no longer ignore the accusations dragging his name into the matter.

He accused colleagues of remaining quiet despite allegedly witnessing Regina’s behaviour during their last production. He mentioned Okey Bakassi, Charles Inojie, Chinyere Wilfred, Jide Kosoko and Sanni Danji as those who “saw things first-hand” and knew the actress “needs help”.

Rollas also recalled an incident at Regina’s son’s birthday in Wuse 2 where Ned reportedly cautioned his wife about smoking. According to him, the senator told her, “If you stop smoking, you’ll have your own daughter,” a remark made in the presence of AGN members Agility, Nazareth Jesse and others.

He further claimed that during preparations for an AGN roundtable in South Africa, Ned gave him a condition that Regina could only attend if she did not travel through Lagos.

Rollas also addressed claims that Ned donated N200 million to AGN, saying the senator stated at the guild’s office launch that the money was for Regina, not the guild.

Turning to Rita, who is contesting for the presidency of the Actors Guild, Rollas said: “If your daughter’s home and health is in distress, AGN elections should not be your priority.” He added that those encouraging her to run were “enemies” of both the guild and her family.

Rollas also faulted Ned for taking family issues to social media, saying they should have been handled privately.
