Former Oyo State First Lady Florence Ajimobi has penned a heartfelt tribute to her late husband, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, as she marked the fifth anniversary of his death.

Florence shared a memorial poster of the former governor on Instagram with the inscription:
“Remembering Archipelago — 5 years on. Today, we honor Senator Abiola Ajimobi, a trailblazing leader whose vision reshaped Oyo State and Nigeria.

“Five years may have passed, but his legacy lives on, in the roads we travel, the enduring reforms, and the inspiration he still sparks. Abiola Ajimobi was more than a name; he symbolized unity, strength, and visionary leadership. His life’s work lives on in every life he touched. Forever in our hearts.”

In the caption, she wrote:
“5 years without you, but your legacy stands tall. Senator Abiola Ajimobi — the architect of modern Oyo State. Your roads, reforms and remarkable leadership continue to guide us. #AjimobiLivesOn.”

Senator Ajimobi, who governed Oyo State from 2011 to 2019, died on June 25, 2020, at the age of 70 due to complications from COVID-19.

The past five years have been especially difficult for Florence, who has also lost her mother and eldest daughter.

Her mother, Victoria Amudoaghan, died in September 2021 at the age of 78. In March 2025, she lost her daughter Bisola Kola-Daisi at 42.

Ajimobi was the first Oyo governor to serve two consecutive terms in office. His death was met with widespread grief across the country, particularly in political and business circles.
