FirstBank adds facial recognition, other features to FirstMobile app

FirstBank First Bank of Nigeria Limited

FirstBank has rolled out new features on its mobile banking app FirstMobile to make digital banking easier and safer for customers.

At the heart of the update is a facial recognition option, which means users can now sign up or activate the app just by scanning their face. No need for cards or passwords. This is especially helpful for people in the diaspora, those without access to their cards, or anyone who simply wants a faster, more secure way to bank.

The facial recognition tool also includes anti-spoof technology. That’s a system that helps protect users against fake or stolen identity attempts.

The app also offers virtual credit cards that customers can use for secure online shopping. These cards are available instantly and can be accessed at any time within the app.

Users can also activate their physical credit cards directly from the app without going to a bank. There’s even an option for salary advances, which can be repaid over three months.

With these updates, FirstBank says it wants to make sure customers enjoy smooth and stress-free banking, no matter where they are.

Chukwuma Ezirim, Group Executive, E-Business and Retail Products Division, said: “With these new services now live on FirstMobile, we are confident we will undoubtedly enhance our customers’ digital experience. FirstBank is committed to innovative ways of delighting our customers so that they can carry out their transactions with no stress and with utmost convenience. We understand the importance of keeping up with the evolving digital landscape, and we are dedicated to providing our customers with cutting-edge solutions that make banking simpler, faster, and more accessible. Our goal is to ensure that every interaction with FirstBank enhances customer satisfaction and builds long-lasting relationships.”

FirstBank says it will continue to invest in modern tools and strong security to keep customers safe and help them manage their money with ease.
