First HoldCo appoints new board members across non-commercial banking subsidiaries

First HoldCo Plc has announced new board appointments across its non-commercial banking subsidiaries following regulatory approvals from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM).

The company disclosed this in a statement issued by its media unit on Sunday in Lagos, saying the appointments form part of efforts to strengthen governance, improve oversight and position the businesses for growth.

According to the statement, the board changes are intended to reinforce leadership across the group’s non-banking operations and align their activities with accepted corporate governance standards.

At First Asset Management Limited, Ebikabo Williams has been appointed chairman of the board.
Other members of the board are Usman Dantata Jr., Binta Gbinije and Alero Adollo.

FirstCap Limited named Yewande Amusan as chairman, with Ahmed Indimi, Irene Akpofure, Adenike Kuti and Zeal Akaraiwe appointed as board members.

At First Securities Brokers Limited, John Akpeki was appointed chairman.

He will work with Omolara Adeyemi, Susan Younis and Kemi Andu-Alausa, who have also joined the board.

First Trustees Limited appointed John Lee as chairman.

Other board members are Abiola Alabi, Adebisi Sola-Adeyemi and Ugochukwu Obi-Chukwu.

For its insurance business, First Insurance Brokers appointed Akinola Phillips as chairman, alongside Ije Onejeme, Folukemi Akinmeji and Mojisola Cardozo as board members.

Commenting on the appointments, Group Chairman of First HoldCo Plc, Femi Otedola, said the company welcomed the new board members to its subsidiaries.

“These appointments reaffirm our commitment to building businesses that contribute to economic development within the ecosystem in which we operate,” Otedola said.
