Fire outbreak puts Big Brother Africa 9 on hold

Big Brother Africa SeasonThe ninth season of Big Brother Africa (BBA) tagged Hotshots will no longer kick off on Sunday, September 7 as earlier announced because of a devastating fire incidence at the Big Brother on Tuesday.

No one was hurt in the fire.

The organisers, M-Net and Endemol South Africa made this known while explaining that the cause of the fire at this stage is unknown and investigations will commence as soon as it is safe to do so.

“At this stage M-Net and Endemol are urgently looking for an alternative Big Brother house in which to film the production, however as this production has highly technical infrastructure, camera and edit requirements an alternative is not immediately available. Every effort will be made to find a solution as quickly as possible to ensure that Africa’s biggest reality show will continue,” a statement from the organisers said.

The BBA house is based at the Sesani Studios in Johannesburg.

Winner of the reality show is expected to take home $300,000.
