Filmmaker Ego Boyo drags Glamour Girls producers

Filmmaker and actress Ego Boyo has dragged the producers of the Netflix film Glamour Girls, a remake of the 1994 self-titled movie.

The movie which was released on the streaming platform last week was met with criticism from social media users who described the film as a ‘waste of time’.

Ego Boyo in a recent post on Twitter agreed that the film was a ‘waste of time’.

The Checkmate star stated that Nollywood classics should be left alone and if there should be a remake, it should be done right.

She wrote: “Leave our classics alone or at least do the work to make them worth watching.”

Reacting to the post, another tweep identified as Nuel Braxon wrote: “I wasted my data, time and sleep.”

“Honestly,” Boyo replied.

Others also joined the actress to criticise the movie.

Thank God I have managed to steer clear of all these remakes, now I know to never go near any of them. And before anybody says but so and so was good, it is the good one that lures you into the vortex of mediocrity and bad craftsmanship that characterise others.

Thank you ma'am. All these half baked producers, directors, actors & actresses think it's a splash of opulence that makes a good movie. Wasting space & energy. Isn't there a scrutiny in place to determine if the remake is fit for release especially when not done by the originals?
