Actor Femi Adebayo has reacted to a fan’s suggestion that he should be cast as the next Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
A social media user identified as Xabs had written on X, formerly Twitter, “Femi Adebayo as the next Black Panther, who say no?”
The post quickly went viral, drawing attention from movie lovers across platforms.
Reacting to the suggestion, Femi quoted the post with a playful yet confident reply.
He wrote, “If it’s sword fights, I’ve mastered them. If it’s the jungle, I’ve survived it. If it’s a kingdom, I’ve ruled it. And when it comes to villains, they’re still learning from Agemo and Esusu. Tell Marvel Studios to call me!”
The original Black Panther was portrayed by late American actor Chadwick Boseman, who died in August 2020 at the age of 43 after a private battle with colon cancer.
Following his death, Marvel Studios announced that the character T’Challa would not be recast in honour of Boseman’s legacy.
The 2022 sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever instead focused on other characters, with Letitia Shuri taking up the mantle of the Black Panther.
Femi Adebayo is known for his roles in Yoruba epic films such as King of Thieves (Ageshinkole) and Jagun Jagun.
