Actor Femi Adebayo has thrown his weight behind Odunlade Adekola’s new film War Lord: Olori Ogun, adding fresh buzz ahead of its cinema release.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, the 46-year-old shared a video hyping the Yoruba epic and urging fans not to miss out.

Femi wrote:

Kilode?! HAA! ODUN MADE A WHOLE BLOCKBUSTER and you’re still sitting at home?! 💥

His excitement stirred a wave of reactions, with some viewers expressing caution based on the reception of Odunlade’s last major release Lakatabu.

Honey Pearl wrote:

Another user, Joke Alabi, added:

In the same vein, Nene Bisola commented:

War Lord is set for release in cinemas on Friday. Its premiere held on Wednesday at Filmhouse, Lekki, Lagos, drawing stars such as Iyabo Ojo, Toyin Abraham, Afeez Azeez, Wumi Toriola, Muyiwa Ademola and Femi Adebayo.

The film tells the story of a challenger rising against a tyrant empowered by a deadly spirit, blending action, drama and supernatural elements.

Odunlade’s 2024 film Lakatabu was a strong box office performer, crossing the N200 million mark, though it received mixed reviews from viewers who criticised its storyline and execution.
