Singer Portable’s baby mama, Ashabi Simple, also paid tribute to the late actress, describing her death as shocking.

She wrote:
“Omoh dis one shock me oooo aunty tola.
You’re one of the best actors I’m rooting for.
Saw you earlier this year when I was shooting Deputy and we promised to feature each other in our next project, but now u laboured and didn’t wait to reap what life sef.
I remember nights you do chat to give me hope and advice, most of your wishes we talked about didn’t even come true.

The cause of Omotola’s death was not disclosed.

Before her passing, Omotola starred in several Yoruba films including Amonata, Officer Adaeze, Ifedayo, and Ayanmo Ire.

She was also known for her modesty and dedication to her craft. In a 2022 interview, she revealed that she quit her nine-to-five job to pursue acting full-time, saying, “I almost fell into the act of flaunting my sexuality and I had to adjust.”

Fans of the actress have taken to social media to express their grief.

One wrote, “This one is a hard pill, but it is well.”
Another added, “Still hard to believe but God understands better.”
“May your soul rest in perfect peace, Motola,” one user prayed.

Omotola’s death comes weeks after Nollywood mourned the passing of filmmaker Kayode Peters, who died in Canada in June. That same month, Yoruba actress Berry White also died after collapsing in her home.
