Actress Ini Edo has received support from fans after her film A Very Dirty Christmas crossed N134.4 million at the Nigerian box office.
The milestone was announced on Instagram on Monday with a poster of the movie.
The post read, “A Very Dirty Christmas has officially crossed the ₦134.4 million mark at the box office. A truly massive achievement for a debut cinema run. The love and support have been incredible.”
Fans took to the comments to encourage the actress.
Aiphijay wrote, “Congratulations to you, Queen Ini… It is the first of many beautiful things to come… Don’t relent… Don’t waver… Don’t stop dreaming!”
Mercycleopas added, “A very good way to start. More wins.”
Dainah said, “You tried. Don’t give up. See Toyin Abraham is going to make that 1 billion this time around. She needs less than 50 millions.”
The movie, released nationwide on December 16, 2025, was produced by Ini Edo’s Minini Empire and directed by Akay Mason.
It stars Ini Edo, IK Ogbonna, Nancy Isime, Waje, and Femi Branch, and follows a family Christmas reunion that turns emotionally complicated.
The title drew criticism from the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), which called it offensive and asked the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) to review it.
Ini Edo said the title was metaphorical, not meant to disrespect Christianity, and urged the public to watch the film before judging.
The NFVCB confirmed the movie passed regulatory review but has engaged the producers over public concerns.
