Actress Peggy Ovire’s birthday celebration has sparked reactions online after her husband, actor Frederick Leonard, failed to acknowledge her publicly.
Peggy marked her birthday on Tuesday, by posting stunning new photos on Instagram. However, her husband’s silence caught the attention of fans, many of whom flooded her comment section with questions.
Oluchi Martha wrote, “Why your hubby no post you, e get as e be.”
Sandy Osazee said, “Wedding ring is already in the bin.”
Anthony Harret commented, “Hmmmmmm ur hubby no wish u happy birthday 😢 it’s real”
Others also pointed out that the actress had not been wearing her wedding ring in recent posts, fuelling speculation that all may not be well between the couple.
Peggy and Frederick got married in Asaba, Delta State, on November 19, 2022, in a star-studded ceremony attended by their Nollywood colleagues. The pair were known for publicly expressing affection for each other until late 2024 when rumours of trouble in their marriage began circulating.
In December 2024, Frederick slammed bloggers for speculating about their marriage, insisting that their relationship was intact. “Dear idle and useless bloggers, leave me and my wife’s name out of your contaminated blogs. This marriage is not your business,” he said on Instagram.
He added, “She can post Christmas photos without me in them. She can rest her fingers and not wear her ring — I bought the ring and I’m not complaining. She can go on vacation without me, it’s not your business.”
Earlier this year, Peggy also addressed the rumours indirectly, writing, “No matter what room I step in, I’m coming in as me.”
Despite ongoing social media speculation, neither Peggy nor Frederick has confirmed a separation.
