President Bola Tinubu has approved the posting of 65 ambassadors and high commissioners to countries and international missions, assigning Femi Fani-Kayode to Germany, Reno Omokri to Mexico and Florence Ajimobi to Austria.
The postings were announced on Friday in a statement by the president’s special adviser on information and strategy Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, the list includes 34 non-career and 31 career ambassadors.
Among the non-career appointees, Abdulrahman Dambazau has been posted to China, while Jimoh Ibrahim will serve as Nigeria’s permanent representative to the United Nations.
Other postings include Ita Enang to South Africa, Okezie Ikpeazu to Spain, Isaac Adewole to Canada and Lateef Kayode Are to the United States.
Grace Bent has been posted to Togo, while Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi will serve in Greece.
Aminu Dalhatu has been appointed high commissioner to the United Kingdom, while Ayodele Oke has been posted to France.
Other non-career postings include Lola Akande to Sweden, Joe-Kyari Okocha to Ireland, Ibok-Ete Ibas to the Philippines and Paul Adikwu to the Vatican.
Nkechi Ufochukwu will serve in Israel, Mahmud Yakubu in Qatar and Yakubu Gambo in Saudi Arabia. Nora Ladi Daduut has been posted to South Korea, while Kulu Haruna Abubakar will serve in Tunisia.
Among the career diplomats, Mohammed Mahmud Lele has been posted to Algeria, Shehu Barde to Ghana and Aminu Nasir to Ethiopia.
Ibrahim Danlami will serve in Kenya, Ayeni Adebayo in Belgium and Akande Wahab in Switzerland.
Other career postings include Nwabiola Ezenwa to Côte d’Ivoire, Maimuna Ibrahim to Niger, Ahmed Monguno to Egypt and Jane Adams to Jamaica.
The statement said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nigeria has received agrément from the United Kingdom for Dalhatu and from France for Oke.
It added that nominations of other envoys have been sent to their host countries for approval.
Tinubu directed the foreign affairs ministry to begin an induction programme for the ambassadors and high commissioners.
The Senate of Nigeria confirmed the nominees in December 2025 after screening them.
The envoys are expected to assume duty after completing the induction programme and receiving approval from their host countries.
