Family members slowed my financial progress – Skitmaker Zicsaloma

Zicsaloma

Skitmaker Isaac Aloma, popularly known as Zicsaloma, has said that family responsibilities affected his financial growth in the early stage of his career.

He made the statement in a video shared online on Tuesday while speaking about financial independence and the pressure that often comes from family members.

According to him, “if you know you want to come out of poverty, you need to be financially heartless even to your direct family.”

Zicsaloma said many of his early business efforts failed because of family obligations. “I did a lot of business while growing up but most of them failed because of family,” he said.

He added that expectations from relatives can make it difficult for young people to save and build stability. “African family and even your own family are very entitled to your wealth. Even when the purpose of working is to save money and build a better future.”

The comedian also said setting financial boundaries may attract criticism but can be necessary. “It is very very okay to be financially heartless even to your friends and family so that you can even save up and break that circle. They will hate you for it but trust me it is for your own good.”

Zicsaloma rose to prominence through comedy skits on social media and has previously spoken about challenges he faced while pursuing entertainment, including lack of support from family members in his early years. In earlier interviews, he said only his mother supported his creative ambitions when he started out in entertainment.
