The family of late gospel singer Bunmi Akinnaanu, popularly known as Omije Ojumi, has shared official arrangements for her burial service.
In a poster shared by fellow gospel artist Ayo Melody on Instagram, who is acting on behalf of the family, several events have been scheduled to honour the late singer. According to the poster:
- Service of songs: Tuesday, 20 January 2026 by 4:00 pm.
- Candle light procession: Tuesday, 20 January 2026 by 7:00 pm.
- Artistes’ night: Tuesday, 20 January 2026 from 8:00 pm to midnight.
- Interment: Wednesday, 21 January 2026 by 10:00 am. Strictly for family and close associates.
Akinnaanu’s death was confirmed in a family statement shared on social media. She died on 12 January at a hospital in Lagos.
In the wake of her death, misleading content about her burial circulated online, including false flyers claiming earlier dates and details.
Fellow gospel singer Alayo Melody publicly urged fans and well‑wishers to ignore the unofficial posts and wait for confirmed information from the family.
Bunmi Akinnaanu rose to prominence in Nigeria’s gospel music industry with her hit song ‘Omije Ojumi’, which became popular in churches and Christian gatherings across the country. Her music touched many worshippers and made her a respected voice in gospel ministry.
