The family of late singer Ifunanya Nwangene, popularly known as Nanyah Music, has announced her burial arrangements following her death.
Nanyah died on January 31, after she was bitten by a snake at her home in Abuja. She was taken to a hospital where she later death.
Her brother, Kingsley Nwangene, shared the obituary and burial details on Instagram. He also posted a tribute captioned, “Till I see you again.”
According to the announcement, a service of songs will be held on February 10, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Abule Oshun, Dansa, Lagos, beginning at 4 p.m. A requiem mass will follow at the same venue by 6 p.m.
Nanyah will be buried in her hometown in Enugu on February 14, 2026, while a thanksgiving service in her honour is scheduled for February 15, 2026.
Nanyah gained public attention after appearing on season three of The Voice Nigeria, where she was noted for her vocal performances. She was also a member of the Abuja Metropolitan Music Society Choir and had been working on new music before her death.
Following her death, tributes came from colleagues and members of the music community who remembered her as a promising singer. Her death also generated public discussion about the circumstances surrounding her treatment after the snake bite, with the Federal Medical Centre, Abuja stating that anti snake venom was administered during efforts to save her life.
